Hendre Roelink
Is a full time professional Storyteller, Writer, Creative/Persuasive Writing facilitator, Personal Writing specialist, Artist in Residence & Educationalist focusing on student motivation and engagement, especially that of male students.
Over the past 20 years Hendre has worked, performed and presented in over 800 Victorian Primary Schools (both state and private) and has worked with an estimated 200,000 students.
During this time Hendre has developed numerous programs that have proven to be highly successful and well received in schools.
These include:
- Storytelling Performances for grades P/1/2, 3/4 & 5/6
- Creative/Persuasive Writing workshops
- Artist in Residency programs working with students to create, edit & publish a book for their school library
- PD days for teachers in the areas of creative/persuasive writing; engaging male students in the classroom; and the use of story in the classroom as an effective educational medium.
As a fully qualified teacher and a full member of the VIT, Hendre combines his skills as an educator with his creative storytelling capacity.
Hendre has also created and presented storytelling workshops and performances for storytelling festivals both in Australia and overseas. All have been very well received.
